Monitoring hand hygiene with smart disinfectant dispensers and benchmarks.
GWA Hygiene was founded in 2015 and has its headquarters in Stralsund. The 25-strong team combines development expertise in hardware and software. The focus is on infection prevention to increase patient safety. For this purpose, the hand hygiene monitoring NosoEx was developed and installed in healthcare facilities in 9 European countries to date.
Unfortunately, only about every second hand disinfection is actually performed. Since up to 90% of germs are transmitted via the hands, inadequate hand hygiene poses a risk of infection. Previous measures, e.g. training, are often resource-intensive in terms of data collection.
NosoEx anonymously and automatically records the disinfection behavior of hospital staff. For example, training courses for individual occupational groups (e.g. doctors, nurses, therapists) can be carried out on a data basis. For this purpose, existing disinfectant dispensers are equipped with sensors. These sensors record the frequency of use, including the amount dispensed, which can then be used to determine the dispenser fill level. In addition, the employees receive an occupational group transponder. The system integrates as seamlessly as possible into the simplinic infrastructure and the workflows in the hospital.
Disinfectant dispensers can be equipped with the NosoEx sensor technology and immediately integrated into the infrastructure of simplinic . The position of the dispensers is recorded in the course of installation. Thus, the relative dispenser usage (e.g. frequently and rarely used dispensers) can be evaluated.
simplinic can be introduced in 3 variants.
