Under the motto "Everyday's Health Heroes - Health. Self-determined. Leben." the prize for health visionaries was awarded for the fifth time at Witten/Herdecke University on 05 November 2019. The Berlin-based simplinic wins two trophies at once: The 2nd prize endowed with 3,000 euros and the audience award.
Steffen Geyer(CEO) and Tobias Meixner (CBDO) presented simplinic in the decisive pitch on November 5 in Witten. Eight other start-ups were represented in the final. The jury awarded second prize to simplinic before the public's choice was announced: Here, simplinic also came out on top. "We are going back to Berlin with two prizes, a great recognition that really makes us happy," said Steffen Geyer, "If the benefits of our products become clear in eight minutes of pitching, then we have obviously done some things right, because the jury and audience are savvy and critical."
The jury included Karen Walkenhorst (member of the board of Techniker Krankenkasse), Dr.Anja Bittner (physician and social entrepreneur), Harm van Maanen (Managing Director, Die Brückenköpfe GmbH), Prof. Dr. Sabine Bohnet-Joschko (Endowed Chair for Management & Innovations in Healthcare at Witten/Herdecke University), Stephan Kohorst (Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Witten/Herdecke University).
